About Us
Welcome to ARFixIt
At ARFixIt, we believe that fixing household appliances shouldn’t be a frustrating, time-consuming, or expensive process. Founded by Yuan Bo Chen, an experienced entrepreneur with over two decades of expertise in the home appliance industry, ARFixIt was born out of a passion for sustainability, innovation, and making home repairs accessible to everyone.
How It Works?
ARFixIt connects to existing mobile devices or AR headsets, allowing users to point their device at a malfunctioning appliance. Our AI-based image recognition system identifies the make, model, and issue, while our machine learning model provides step-by-step, easy-to-follow instructions in natural language.
For more complex problems, users can connect with live technicians through our built-in community of repair experts.
Our Mission
Empowering Homeowners
Our mission is simple: to empower homeowners with the tools they need to diagnose and repair common household issues quickly and efficiently.
By leveraging the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR), we’ve created a guided overlay experience that transforms how people approach home repairs.
ARFixIt is more than just a tool – it’s a movement. We’re here to revolutionize home repairs by making them faster, easier, and more accessible. No more waiting for technicians. No more wasted time. Just smart, guided solutions that put the power back in your hands.
How it began?
Waiting weeks for repairs
It all started on a cold winter night in Toronto. Yuan Bo’s friend’s furnace broke down, leaving his family in the freezing cold. He called for a repair technician, only to be told it would take three days for someone to arrive. Frustrated and desperate, he spent hours scouring through outdated manuals and confusing YouTube videos, trying to fix the issue himself. After a long and exhausting process, he managed to get the furnace running again, but the experience left a lasting impression.
This wasn’t just about one broken furnace – it was a widespread problem. Across Canada, homeowners face similar challenges: long wait times for repairs, skyrocketing service costs, and the frustration of not being able to fix things themselves. In a country where winters are harsh and home appliances are essential, these delays aren’t just inconvenient – they’re a real hardship.
Yuan Bo realized that there had to be a better way.
Drawing on his passion for innovation, he envisioned a solution that would empower homeowners to take control of their repairs.
Combining the latest advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR), ARFixIt was born – a smart, intuitive platform that guides users through repairs in real-time, eliminating the need to wait for help.
